The traditional forms originate from India, Indonesia and Japan. In India it is very common to fight with small kites made out of paper and bamboo and fly them with "manjha" (a line which is prepared with glass-powder).The aim is to cut the lines of the others and remain as the last one in the sky. The kite "Sanjo Rokkaku" which comes from Japan is used rather often, over here, to participate in championships. With this kind of kite, our "fighter kite" doesn't have much in common. Ours use other construction materials and in line touch competition we don't use "Manjha".

Our sail materials consist of extremely thin plastic film (ie. orcon - used in the aerospace industry) or polypropylene film, such as gift wrapping or Mylar. For the frame, a precisely split and shaped piece of bamboo for the spine and a thin carbon fiber rod (1 mm - 1,6 mm) for the kite's bow. In the US, the kite designs were developed and improved and huge variety of proven plans that are outstanding for precise and very fast flying already exist.
