Put the reel of flying line on the ground and let the wind push the kite away from you as the line runs through your fingers. A well built kite should turn or spin on or near its center point when you allow the flying line to be slack. To be steered in the right direction, you have to apply tension to the flying line by pulling in or retrieving the line at the right moment: And that moment is when the nose of the kite is pointed in the direction you want the kite to go next. Acting like that, the kite can be steered in the direction you wish. Don't loose patience! The more you practice, the better you'll get. | |
